Rush to judgment

Rush Limbaugh has been named a judge in the 2010 Miss America Pageant:

The Miss America Organization (MAO) announced today that Rush Limbaugh has been named as one of the national judges for the 2010 Miss America Pageant, which will be held at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, January 30 and broadcast live on TLC.

Gee, does this mean that Rush Limbaugh is not the fringe nut everyone in the media thinks he is? Could this mean that Rush maybe is, well, mainstream?

Let the screaming from the Left commence.

Ethical carbon credits

Research from Canada I’m sure has the environmental wacko community in a tizzy this morning:

Psychologists in Canada have revealed new research suggesting that people who become eco-conscious “green consumers” are “more likely to steal and lie” than others. …

“Those lyin’, cheatin’ green consumers,” begins the statement from the university. “Buying products that claim to be made with low environmental impact can set up ‘moral credentials’ in people’s minds that give license to selfish or questionable behavior.”

I guess it’s sort of like carbon credits for your personal ethics.

A Nobel for campaigning

Bob Owens at Confederate Yankee notes the absurdity of the Nobel Peace Prize being awarded to President Obama, who took office only two weeks before nominations closed:

Barack Obama won a Nobel Peace Prize for campaigning for President.

Good. Grief.

UPDATE: This from the UK Telegraph:

The award of this year’s Nobel peace prize to President Obama will be met with widespread incredulity, consternation in many capitals and probably deep embarrassment by the President himself.

Don’t bet on it.
