What if Romney had said what Reid said?

If Mitt Romney had said what Harry Reid did about Obama being an attractive candidate because of his light skin and lack of Negro dialect, those comments would have been tied to Mormonism and what the left sees as Mormonism’s inherent racism because of their family values and Utah’s overwhelmingly white population. But when a lefty Democrat Mormon, like Reid, says it, his religion is never mentioned.

Stephanopoulous: It’s OK for Dems to be “private” racists

Imagine former Bill Clinton operative George Stephanopoulos give this kind of cover to a Republican:

Now, this was a private conversation, it was meant to be private, with the book’s authors in which Reid was explaining why he was pushing Obama to run for president in the first place.

So it’s OK for Democratic majority leaders to be private racists, in Stephanopoulos’ view? I guess that so, since most of the high-powered Democrats in the past 30 or 40 years were once public racists. I’m talking about Sens. Robert Byrd, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Russell, Herman Talmadge, and Fritz Hollings.
