Oh, The Irony

When former President Clinton speaks on the issue of truth-telling, it’s a must-read. But when he couples truth-telling with government involvement, it’s scary.

If Bill Clinton had his way, there would be an Internet agency created by the U.S. government or United Nations to debunk malicious rumors that originate and spread online.

Rest in Peace, Jagger

The Wake County Sheriff’s office has lost one of its most talented and beloved police  dogs. Jagger served for more than five years and saved the life of his handler, Deputy Bradley Manville. Jagger was surrounded by Wake deputies when he passed away.

Time reports that Disney has filed for the trademark on “Seal Team 6,” proving yet again that Disney is one of the smartest businesses on earth. So why didn’t the Navy grab this? Heaven knows how much money will be made on Seal Team 6 merchandise. Can a new ride be far behind?

Carrboro Mayor “extremely optimistic about passing this” transit tax

Carrboro Mayor Mark Chilton thinks passing a half-cent transit tax is a no-brainer in Orange County. At issue is a $1 billion plus boondoggle of an inflexible rail project that is a mismatch with the Triange’s urban/suburban lifestyle.  He’s already promising a door-to-door grassroots campaign to get out the vote, should the tax end up on the fall ballot  as many think it will. It’s not tough to understand why he’s positively giddy about the prospects of ensuring that the urban elite in Orange County get what they want.
