DOT Official Trogdon Confirms He Did Not Sign Letter Requesting Money

Reporting for Carolina Journal, Barry Smith has the very latest on the questions swirling around a letter sent to legislators about a budget request for two toll roads that carried the signature of the Department of Transportation’s COO, Jim Trogdon. Did the Perdue administration intentionally change the contents of the letter to reflect its push for toll road funding, or was it simply a  bureaucratic mix-up? We’ll find out tomorrow, when Perdue aide Pryor Gibson speaks to the state Senate committee.

 

The N.C. Department of Transportation’s chief operating officer confirmed that he did not sign a letter to lawmakers saying that money was needed for two toll projects as soon as possible.

“Those were digital signatures,” Jim Trogdon, the chief operating officer, told members of the Senate Rules Committee Wednesday morning.

Trogdon was responding to a question from Sen. Tom Apodaca, R-Henderson, the Rules Committee chairman, as to whether he’d actually signed a letter that was sent to Sen. Stan White, D-Dare.

Welcome To The Recovery

The current administration’s failed economic policies continue to impose misery on out-of-work Americans and uncertainty on job creators.

Job seekers were jolted Tuesday by new government data showing the number of available jobs dropped by 325,000 in April to 3.4 million.

That was the biggest single-month drop since September 2008′s falloff of 438,000.
