So this is where the American anti-war movement is going. A 41-year-old American, bent on killing a Dutch soldier, loses patience and kills an unsuspecting Dutch student instead. Oh, well. When you’re killing for peace the target is immaterial, I guess.

This is why the security people in the U.S. Capitol should bar anyone wearing pink from entering a hearing room. As the Dutch incident shows, you never know what a person will do in the name of peace and non-violence.

UPDATE: The maniac has been identified. He’s 41-year-old Carlos Hartmann from Tecumseh, Mich.
