Rasmussen: 70% Say Obama Is A Liberal, 67% Say Romney Is A Conservative

Fascinating numbers out of Rasmussen today. While the polling shows the horse race right now as Gov. Romney leading President Obama, 49% to 44%, I find the data on ideology much more interesting. It points out that voters are seeing this presidential race as a clear choice between two different mindsets and policy perspectives.

Seventy percent (70%) of voters see Obama as politically liberal, while 67% see Romney as a conservative. However, the president is seen as more extreme ideologically. Forty-three percent (43%) see him as Very Liberal, while just 24% believe Romney is Very Conservative. Most voters are either politically Moderate or Somewhat Conservative.
