Nanny Bloomberg Smiling Today, As Are The Rest Of The Food Police

Today, New York City officials are expected to approve NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s ban on big sodas.

Doctors and nutrition experts said the regulation’s success or failure may depend on more than just the modest number of calories it might slash from people’s diets. It will hinge on whether the first-in-the-nation rule starts a conversation that changes attitudes toward overeating.

Grow up, folks. It’s no secret that the more you eat and drink, the more likely you are to put on weight. People have the right to make poor decisions. The correct path is to hold them accountable for those decisions — via higher insurance premiums, for example — not to try and act like their daddy.
