Republican Wake County school board member Chris Malone will leave office Dec. 31 to begin his term in the North Carolina House. That means the Wake board majority – Democrats – will have the votes to select the person they want to fill Malone’s seat. The News & Observer reports the law requires the candidate interviews to be held in public. And that will be fascinating to watch. How will board member Susan Evans react if/when another board member, or a candidate, says something she doesn’t agree with?
