How Obama-Clinton has changed political terminology

The Daily Kos kids have been dissing Appalachia in their inimitable style, prompting a bit of scolding by one Kos diarist. Here’s part of what she says (emphasis added):

But West Virginia and other places like it are not as monolithic as many believe. Sure, they are more skewed to the conservative, but you will find a wide range of people.

So, West Virginia, a state that has voted Democratic in 20 out of 36 presidential elections since it became a state, and with a higher percentage of union membership than all but 14 states, skews conservative because it is going to choose Hillary Clinton over Barack Obama?
