Chapel Hill’s gutless Chamber

Posted December 15th, 2006 at 7:10 PM by Jon Ham

Way to stand up to goon protesters, Chapel Hill Chamber of Commerce. Leftoids did their knee-jerk protest today at the opening of the U.S. Army recruiting office on E. Franklin Street. The Chamber was supposed to participate, as it does with all newcomers to the business community, but it was just too scary, it seems. From The N&O:

The protest coincided with an official ribbon cutting scheduled for the new recruiting station. But after learning about the protest, the chamber canceled its involvement, saying it could not guarantee its members’ safety.

So much for moral leadership. A group of lefty sign wavers and the Chamber cuts and runs. Ever heard of standing on principle? Ever heard of the concept of not being blackmailed by fringe lunatics?

Yep, folks, this is my hometown area once again. Down here in the Triangle, we support the justice system by dragging innocent young men with solid alibis through a year-long rape case while hiding exculpatory evidence. And, we support the troops…

Am I the only one that notices that people cancel their appearances when the “peace loving left” is going to protest, due to safety concerns, but nobody ever cancels when the right is protesting something? Hmmmm…..
