Predicting an MSM bias fest tonight

Posted September 11th, 2008 at 3:37 PM by Jon Ham

The Hill posted an item on its blog a bit ago with this headline: “Palin Sought Guidance from Rick Warren”. Here’s the first paragraph:

Pastor Rick Warren got a call from Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) this week seeking help in dealing with the “unfair, unjust attacks” the GOP vice presidential candidate believes she has come under.

But an update was added a few minutes ago that puts an entirely different light on this story. In fact, it calls into question the very accuracy of the lead paragraph in the Hill’s blog post. Here’s the update:

UPDATE: Palin’s camp calls to say that the Alaska Gov. was returning Warren’s call. According a Palin spokeswoman, Warren called her on Saturday September 6 and she returned his call on Monday September 8. The Monday phone call is when the above conversation described by Warren took place.

What are the chances that the MSM will report this story without mentioning the key fact that Palin was simply returning a call? Good, I suspect.

Here’s another problem, maybe for Warren. A commenter on HotAir asks, if Warren solicited prayer requests and Palin indeed asked him to pray for strength in dealing with the massive MSM attacks on her, didn’t he betray pastor-client confidentiality by running to the media to blab about it? I’m not a lawyer or a minister, so I’ll leave that for others to decide.

  1. Jon Sanders Says:

Warren also hosted Obama to speak to his church last year — twice, if memory serves, but I could be mistaken.
