Maybe it’s not just Europe that’s in decline

Posted September 12th, 2008 at 8:38 AM by Jon Ham

Check this out:

Operators of a Vancouver, Wash. Apartment complex subsidized by the taxpayer-funded Department of Housing and Urban Development, also known as HUD, have told residents they cannot fly or display American flags on or in their homes.

Yes, you read that right. “On or in their homes.” Is there a stupidity virus going around?

Well, strictly speaking, the memo they sent out banned ALL flags. And it never mentioned American flags specifically.

They should make an exception for American flags and for other official flags such as the flag of the state of Washington. If they don’t, then I hope someone drags their ass into court and sues them. There should never be a restriction on dislpaying the American flag as long as it is done tastefully (e.g., no American flag diapers, no leaving flags unlit outside at night, etc.).

Some Ole Miss Graduate probably was Displaying the Army of Northern Virgina Flag or a Cofederate Naval Ensign in their home to get liberal panties in this much of a wad.
