CNN’s Lou Dobbs discusses media bias
Posted September 12th, 2008 at 10:48 AM by Jon HamCNN’s Lou Dobbs spoke at the Family Research Council’s Action Summit today. I love the line about MSNBC’s recently demoted Keith Olbermann:
He attacked the media as biased, in both the way it reports the news as well as the choices of stories they choose to publish. Dobbs says that the Sarah Palin nomination demonstrated this beyond any doubt. She was “savaged†by the media, including “intelligentsia†like Matt Damon and Whoopi Goldberg. Keith Olbermann is hanging by a “seriously medicated thread,†and told the audience that after Olbermann went after Dobbs’ children, he’d like to get him in a room alone for a … frank exchange of ideas.
He said a lot more. Read it all.

So — Lou Dobbs, who is the least unbiased person on CNN, is OK — because his bias matches the Foundation’s?
Between this and the arrival of someone straight out of the children’s book “My First Significant Leadership Role” as the GOP’s VP nod (something for which the Dems would be excoriated, rightly so, for doing), it’s like I’ve walked into some kind of alternative reality field.

Rose, please.
Palin has more executive experience than Obama and Biden combined. And while technically she may also have more executive experience than McCain, his battle experience makes up for that. Obama and Biden are a couple of noise-generating armchair jockeys who’ve never done a damn thing except flap their cakeholes. Heck, even Jimmy Carter, with his captaincy of a US Navy nuclear submarine and being governor of Georgia, would be preferable to Obama and/or Biden.
It’s really boring to hear Democrats and liberals yammering on and on about experience when it’s clear that neither of the folks on their ticket has any experience that’s worth a damn.

I’m not strictly concerned about executive branch experience. Obama, Biden and McCain all have 10+ years of experience at a state or national level. Palin’s mayor and City Council terms, to my opinion, don’t count for a damn thing.
Believe it or not, I’ve been a fan of McCain for years, and probably would have voted for him over Gore in ‘00. (Michael Lewis’ book “Losers,” initially published as “Trail Fever,” does a good job explaining why.)
But for him to pick a running mate with 18 months’ experience as governor, who doesn’t have a grasp of the issues important to manage the world’s most powerful democracy? Pandering, smoke and mirrors. Charlie Crist would have been a better pick. Or just about anyone else.
PS on the media — Jon Ham and pals were slamming the “MSM” for not picking up the Enquirer’s coverage of John Edwards. Why now the anger to the MSM for reporting questionable items in Palin’s past?

Rose, don’t peddle that here. If The Lightworker had chosen Tim Kaine of Virginia, there would have been no lefty angst about his lack of experience. Compare his tenure as governor to Palin’s. He’s not had to deal with a fraction of large issues that she has, he has shown no act of political courage as she has, and he has accomplished nothing noteworthy. If you really knew what had been going on you’d know that Palin had been a favorite among conservative bloggers for many months because of her accomplishments as governor of Alaska. Admit it. Lefties are just upset that they’re getting their butts kicked by a girl.

Oh, and I almost forgot your boy John Edwards, who was chosen with less than a full term as a do-nothing Senator and who had absolutely no foreign policy or executive experience. Spare us.
