The state’s most liberal Democratic congressmen (Price, Miller, Watt) voted for the bailout bill, which failed in the House 228-205. Joining them was normally moderate Bob Etheridge. Everyone else, including the other three Democrats (McIntyre, Shuler, Butterfield) and six Republicans (Coble, Foxx, Hayes, Jones, McHenry, Myrick) voted against the bill, which Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) called a “crap sandwich.”
