That’s what The News & Observer and The Herald-Sun apparently feel about a UNC professor being arrested for indecent exposure in a restroom at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. I get the print edition of The N&O at home and, for the life of me, I couldn’t find the story in its Monday edition. I don’t get The Herald-Sun, but on their Web site’s main news page and its Orange page there is nary a word about Dr. Hugh Tilson being arrested in this sting operation. Police say an internet site has encouraged men to use “the bathroom at the airport to try and hook up with other men.” Atlanta cops, however “want everyone to know this type of illegal activity won’t be tolerated.”

He is a well-regarded professor of public health.

[...] Yesterday I pointed out that neither The News & Observer nor The Herald-Sun had written anything about the UNC professor arrested for indecent exposure in a restroom in the Atlanta airport. My concern was the lack of coverage only. I did not assume guilt in my post. (If you want to check, it’s here.) After the Duke lacrosse rape hoax debacle we should all know better. Well, The N&O finally ran the story today. I still can’t find it on The Herald-Sun’s Web site, though. [...]
