Is tax delinquency an Obama adminstration prerequisite?

Posted June 19th, 2009 at 9:34 AM by Jon Ham

Another Obama nominee didn’t pay taxes. What a surprise:

President Obama’s choice as chief of protocol for the State Department, a position that carries the status of an ambassadorship, did not file tax returns for 2005 and 2006, errors she corrected last November.

The nominee, Capricia Penavic Marshall, has placed blame for the problem on the Postal Service and on miscommunication between her husband and their accountant.

It’s almost like not paying taxes is a prerequisite to work in an administration whose aim is to squeeze as many taxes as possible out of the beleaguered American people.

I think when the new tax package goes through the General Assembly, I’ll figure out some way to have a miscommunication with my accountant, too.

Actually, tax delinquency is just a side effect of the real prerequisite, which is to have a firm belief that the rules only apply to stupid little people who aren’t connected and can’t get high-ranking government jobs.
