15-year-olds, stay off the stage tonight at Alltel

Posted May 14th, 2007 at 10:23 AM by Jon Ham

If you’re a 15-year-old girl heading to the Gwen Stefani concert tonight at Alltel Pavilion, whatever you do, don’t get on stage if you’re invited to do so by Stefani’s opening act. The rapper Akon, who has hit records despite the fact that he can’t sing a lick, has been accused of assaulting underage girls that he invites on stage at his concerts. He claims it’s not assault, but you can watch segments of a recent Akon concert video here and see for yourself.

YouTube originally took down this video, produced by blogger Michelle Malkin, but has since backed off and allowed it to be viewed (language alert in the rap lyrics). The girl in the concert video, a preacher’s daughter in Trinidad, said she had no idea Akon was going to have simulated sex with her when he invited her on stage, so don’t say you weren’t warned.
