Video targets the wafflers, including Burr;
UPDATE: 64-35, Burr votes yes

Posted June 26th, 2007 at 10:09 AM by Jon Ham

HotAir.com has produced a video that places six Republican immigration-cloture wafflers in the company of Ted Kennedy, with hearts and kisses.

That’s our own Richard Burr at the 12 o’clock spot. Next, going clockwise, is Judd Gregg (R-NH), Thad Cochran (R-MS), John Ensign (R-NV), Orrin Hatch (R-UT), Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Kit Bond (R-MO). Oh, and that’s Kennedy in the center in case you didn’t notice. Go here or click on the photo above to see the video. Prepare yourself, though. Teddy sings.

UPDATE: To keep up with what’s happening today on the cloture vote, you can go to HotAir, Tammy Bruce’s blog, and to The Corner. They’re all keeping tabs.

UPDATE: The vote wasn’t close, 64-35. Only two of the seven in the photo (Cochran and Hatch) voted against cloture. This will be studied for years to come in political science classes. A wildly unpopular bill nevertheless gets nearly two-thirds support of the U.S. Senate. One side will be calling this antidemocratic and the other will be saying these brave senators followed their consciences.

    Every Senator (especially the Republicans) who voted aye on cloture today should be dragged out into the Sonoran desert and left to the coyotes. (And no, I don’t mean the human smugglers. I mean the canine variety.)

    Within the next couple of weeks, I am officially going to go change my voter registration from Republican (which I’ve been since I turned 18) to Unaffiliated. I’ve had enough of the GOP and its so-called “leadership”.

  2. Right Angles » Blog Archive » Burr says he can’t support current bill Says:

    [...] Sen. Richard Burr, R-NC, who voted for cloture on the immigration reform bill on Tuesday, after voting against cloture on June 7, now says on his Web page that he can’t support the current bill that comes up for another cloture vote tomorrow (emphasis added): Tuesday’s vote was on whether the Senate should continue to debate immigration, not on the bill itself. I still have concerns about the immigration reform bill in its current form. Unless the bill changes drastically, I can find no way to support it. [...]
